FAQ

How can I get to Kujala Reindeer Farm, and do I need to book in advance?

Kujala Reindeer Farm is located in Nissinvaara, about 10 kilometers from Ruka and Kuusamo. We recommend booking activities and visits in advance through our website or on Ruka.fi. This ensures your spot in the desired activity and provides you with the best experience possible.

Can I come just to see the reindeer?

Yes, you can visit the reindeer by booking a program in advance. All activities at the farm are guided. We suggest booking your visit on our website to fully experience the world of reindeer through authentic experiences like morning feeding of the herd and the farm visit. You can get up close to the reindeer, feed them, learn about reindeer husbandry, and hear stories about the farm's history. This way, you'll get the most out of your visit and engage with the reindeer responsibly.

Which activities are suitable for the whole family?

All our programs are family-friendly, but certain activities are especially popular among families. These include the reindeer farm visit, reindeer safari, summer campfire reindeer trek, and a “day as a reindeer herder,” where you can explore reindeer husbandry and enjoy nature. Additionally, you can learn about reindeer herding culture and various reindeer products at the farm’s reindeer center.

Can I dine at Kujala Reindeer Farm, and what about special diets?

Yes, we offer meals at the hut and in the reindeer center's restaurant for groups of 10 or more. Special diets and allergies are accommodated upon booking, including gluten-free, vegan, and other dietary options. Our café offers local delicacies and from time to time reindeer dishes. For current opening hours, please check our social media channels.
